Within burlesque I perform my soloacts, I am a part of two duos, one with my lifepartner Frank Doggenstein and the other, Fragile Fantasies, together with Veda DeCadenca, I also act as mistress of ceremonies in my own productions, but am gladly also a mic for hire, I love talking to the audience.

My acts are a mixture of demons, divas and creatures from the nature. My inspiration comes from visual art, imagination, nature, movies and dreams. I love that an act gets reborn everytime in front of a new audience and that burlesque is performed on such different stages that there is always an element of surprise. I love twirling tassels, especially the fiery ones, however it is quite a rare treat nowadays due to so many regulations. I love portraying demons but equally as much I love getting into the skin of old time divas. The stage is a place of magic and transformation for me.
Thunder Goddess
Signature act with firetassels and rock´n´roll action. Has been performed since 2010. Headwear by Fiona Timantti. Performed around the world, from New York to Basel and as a curiosity, the only time without fire, just especially for Mat Knifes event at the legendary Stone Wall Inn, NYC.
Black Valentine
Black Valentine was originally created for the Helsinki Burlesque Festival 2015. The outfit is a collaboration between Bettie and Ira´s Studio, headwear by Fiona Timantti. The act has many versions and has been performed to a beatles medley, Finnish Tango at a horse race track and insprovised stripping spoken word. Can be customised to many kinds of music and lenghts. Betties favorite version is a 15 minute medley of burlesque classics. Inspired by Jennie Lee and Mae West
Pirate Queen
Bettie´s signature act. Blackheart, the pirate Queen has truly sailed the 7 seas. The headwear was created for the first ever Helsinki Burlesque Festival 2008 and the act was born in 2009 for Helsinki-Honolulu-Hysteria event at Wäiski. Has been reborn and repaired many times but still going strong. Performed at the Stockholm Burlesque Festival, Finnish National Theatre ( Punch Up) to name a few.
Haunted
Haunted is originally inspired by the Finnish Cult movie White Reideer from 1952, and has in Bettie´s hands turned into a tale of ageing, and how we haunt ourselves with impossible expectations, and how a womens sexuality is so often too much, or the wrong kind. Wardrobe is a collaboration with the artiste extraordinaire Hedoluxe. If possible the cape has UV paint so it gives the act and extra dimension if technically possible.
Mae West tribute
Old School boudoir feels performed to Mae West classics. Has been in Bettie´s repertoire since 2009. Can also be turned into a Halloween act with slowmotion and comedic elements of a showgirls ghost. Has been performed in Paris, Rome, NYC and numerous events and private parties, and also appears in the movie Full of Love-Escape from a deep freeze 2018 Sydänfilmi oy.
Helsinki 1910
This performance was created for a commissioned show by the Helsinki Festival, a Timetravel to burlesque curated by Bettie Blackehart in 2018. It was a warm up for the Ukranian band Dakh Daughters and a huge joy to perform and curate. It is a story about a time when photos were still black and white and colours were painted on.
Honey Dripper
Honey Dripper is an ode for all pollinators. It is a tale of the neverending search for pollen and how in spring, looking at nature burst into life it can bring a little blush on your cheeks and make you feel the feelings. Performed for example at Stockholm Pride, at a private party for Helsinki Zoo, opening of Art House Brander Mänttä and many more. Wardrobe a collaboration with Ira´s Studio, headwear by Fiona Timantti.
In the mood for love
A mix of recycling and Mae West. A costume made with recycled materials inspired by technicolor cinema. Premier in KimalleKaruselli together with artist Peggy Lee Cooper in vocals.
Red Devil
Red Devil can be customised in various ways to many kinds of music. Performed with live music to the Twin Peaks theme with Kitten on the Keys and Gasthaus Orchestra. Can be performed with firetassels added to the end.
Mating Rituals
Origins in the insect world, inspired by the Peacock spiders mating dance rituals. Made by Bettie from recycled materials with the exception on the LED whips in the end. Music Kim Carnes Bette Davies eyes.
Pour l´amour de l´art
A combination of Betties two professions visual art and burlesque. Premiered in 2014 this is one of Betties absolute favoirites to perform. She has also painted and autoportrait of herself painting this act in a painting. Has been seen around the world, on a riverboat in Paris and various clubs in NYC. Also appears in the film Full of Love-Pakomatka pakastimesta
Baby J ´n´ Virgin M
A christmas themed act celebrating Betties birthday 25th dec and her fairytale bday buddy Baby J. Inspired by the relationship of J and M and the miracles performed in religion. Also asking the question can one person be the mother and the child? Music Elvis Holy Night and Eurythimics Miracle of Love
Rockshow aka My Little Pony Super Villain
This one was premiered in 2011 at the Helsinki Burlesque Festival and has since been performed in all over, headlining the Stockholm and Geneva Burlesque Festivals and in 2012 at the legendary Tease-O-Rama in San Fransisco. A transformation from cartoon villain to tassel tossing temptress.
Tropical Fire
Indpired by colours and the fringe gifted by burlesque legend Fannie Annie (RIP). Performed to both live and recorded music. Can be ended with fiery tassels. Curiosity, has been performed at Helsinki City Hall (historical hotel Seurahuone) in addition to photo exhibition by Minna Jerrman for the 10th annual Helsinki Burlesque Festival.

Jungle Bird
Inspired by Henri Rousseaus jungle paintings and burlesque history this act takes you to the moment after a storm when the birds start singing again and there is the scent of new growth in the air.

When everything is not enough. A performative and critical act about the need to be the best and the most beautiful at any cost.

Karelia with Frank Doggenstein
A performance that was invented in the sauna. An answer to what is the outcome if you combine Kalevala, linen and Heavymetal.
PUNK
Bettie and Frank share a punk rock past and they have created this partially autobiographical work of art to celebrate it. Not for corporate parties unless especially requested.
